Can Spirits Influence our Decisions?
At various times Humanity has recorded dialogue between different dimensions of life. These are reports of prophetic visions, dreams in which ancestors reappear, and insights that have saved lives and revealed extraordinary discoveries for Science. How can this be explained?
For the Religion of God, of the Christ, and of the Holy Spirit1, such phenomena, which are explained from a spiritual perspective, are the result of intuition — the fastest and most common channel of this type of dialogue between the human and spiritual worlds. Intuition is compulsory and we all have this communication capacity because in essence we are Eternal Spirits.
That being so, we can connect at any time with other spirits through mediumship mechanisms, as the Religion of the Third Millennium explains in the words of its President-Preacher Paiva Netto: “In fact, politicians, philosophers, religious people, scientists, artists, sportspeople, et al., are all mediums, but if they are not mediums who are evangelized and enlightened by experiencing the New Commandment of Christ, they will be nothing more than instruments of evil. Generally speaking, they do not even know what mediumship is, but they can develop it, if they want to, in order not to become the easy prey of less evolved spirits2.” [Emphasis added]
Conscious UNION
It is essential that the connection with the spiritual world be a conscious one, in other words, we need to know that the mechanism is real for us to have the autonomy to choose the invisible company we want to have by our side. This being so, we must pay even greater attention because, whether we believe in it or not, mediumship happens by means of our thoughts, words, and actions. Therefore, let us choose our company from higher spiritual spheres wisely, because all communication with them involves the Divine purpose of Fraternity.
In the Holy Bible we find examples of this spiritual union. Both Angels and impure spirits manifested themselves openly to earthly beings, showing that it was a very old occurrence. The Beloved Master, who performed great miracles under the protection of God and with the help of His Angels, taught us to pray, making a very effective spiritual means of communication accessible to everybody.
Jesus was a pioneer in mediumistic education of the people. With the ecumenical Lord’s Prayer (The Gospel according to Matthew 6:9-13), He taught them to ask for Divine Protection in order to distance evil spiritual influences. He showed us by His own example that heavenly help comes when we do good deeds for the benefit of others.
Charity is the essence of spiritual life
Charity, synonymous with Love, solidary actions, moved by good thoughts and words, is one of the resources that make communication between the two worlds refined and fast. The more willing we are to help, the more we shall find friendly Spirits attuned to our purpose, ready to collaborate with us.
From the Higher Spiritual World, Dr. Bezerra de Menezes3 (Spirit) in the magazine Jesus está Chegando! [Jesus is Arriving!], an ecumenical publication of the Religion of Universal Love, explains on page 44: “When Legions, overcoming the heavy barriers of the umbral regions, descend from Spiritual Territories that are so far from the earthly globe to help directly those who are in tune with Goodness and who beg for the blessings of Christ, we understand that Spiritual Charity is not just a valuable attribute, but an essence of life in the Spiritual world. Charity is the vehicle that moves Spirits in the distant sidereal spheres. Without Charity we could say that Christianity would not have the Divine Oxygen that makes it immortal.”
The exercise of patience, cooperation, and humility improves our mediumistic gift for our benefit and that of our neighbors. After all, how many more things will we be able to accomplish due to the friendly help of those who have a privileged view from above, those whom we call Guardian Angels?
To conclude, Paiva Netto adds: “The lesson that the Temple of Good Will teaches is, if there already exists (as there really does) a compulsory link between Humanity above and Humanity below, unfortunately in an unconscious and pernicious way, with disastrous results, and if this influence is inevitable, then let it be for Good, because the contact that is generally established is with evil and ignorant spiritual creatures. Let us work, completely conscious, to achieve this. This is what the Higher Spirits want4.” [Emphasis added]
