How to protect yourself from the envy, hatred, and negative energies that sometimes invade your home and harm your well-being and that of your family? To achieve spiritual protection, we suggest four powerful prayers for warding off evil.

When we pray sincerely, in dialogue with God, we feel peace, equilibrium, and clarity in our thoughts and in our hearts. This beneficial integration helps us create spiritual protection, even against the influence of bad spirits.

+ Can Spirits Influence our Decisions?

These evil souls send us false ideas of weakness and incapability or instil in us a great sense of anguish and fear. This is something that may paralyze us and sometimes make us feel like we’ve lost our Faith.

But nothing is greater than the protection and the Power of God, of Goodness, and of Love. That’s why you must strengthen your spirituality! And when you are stronger, you feel more prepared to do your part, acting with kindness, respect, ethics, and solidarity, always doing good deeds.

Prayers for warding off evil

Prayer combined with Good Thoughts is the first step towards protecting your Spirit and the place you live, work, or spend a large part of your time. This also works for those you love.

So see our suggestions below:

1. Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel

Author: Pope Leo XIII

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle;
be our protection
against the wickedness and snares of the devil.

May God rebuke him,
we humbly pray.
And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the Power of God,
thrust into hell Satan
and all the evil spirits
who wander through the world
seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

+ Say this beautiful prayer with the President-preacher of the Religion of the Third Millennium, Paiva Netto:

With prayer, we strengthen the connection with our Guardian Angels, Spirits of great LIGHT who are sent by Jesus to protect us—and those whom we love—also from such spiritual attacks. They are much more powerful than the evil spirits.

2. The Prayer of Spiritual Vigilance (Night prayer)

Author: Alziro Zarur (1914-1979)

God Is Present!
Lord Jesus,
may the glorious phalanx of
Saint Francis of Assisi,
Patron of the Divine Legion of Good Will,
protect my Spirit,
not only my body,
while I sleep.

Should I be attacked by evil,
may I be capable of fighting back instantly.
But I beg for Your merciful protection

in the name of the Father,
the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.
Jesus Lives!

+ Pray with us:

Also, try and pray as often as you feel the need to! You can talk to God at any time, especially when you wake up, before going to sleep, and before your meals. Pray with devotion and a with sincere soul.

Every time you ask for something or give thanks (it’s essential to learn how to do it), you’ll feel that evil is moving out of your life and that the Power of the Heavenly Father is being constantly working on your behalf.

3. “Ask, Seek, Knock”

The Holy Gospel-Apocalypse of Jesus is itself a true prayer. In fact, the Christ of God left us the most powerful prayer of all, because He Himself said it: the Lord’s Prayer.

Likewise, He brought us other valuable guidelines on the importance of praying and on how God always answers our requests.

An example is this Biblical passage, which can also be used as one of your prayers for warding off evil:

Ask, Seek, Knock

(The Good News of Jesus according to Matthew 7:7-12)

7 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find [Goodness]; knock and the door will be opened to you.
8 For everyone who asks receives from God; the one who seeks finds [Goodness]; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
9 Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?
11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in Heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!
12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

When you read the Gospel-Apocalypse of Jesus, if you can, say these words aloud every day in your home and meditate on its teachings. This will bring you great spiritual protection.

4. “The Armor of God”

Inspired by Christ Himself, Apostle Paul brings us this beautiful passage that is also a prayer:

The Armor of God

(The Epistle of Paul to the Ephesians 6:10-20)

10 Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the Gospel of Peace.
16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of Faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers ad requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the Gospel,
20 for which I am an ambassador in chains [in other words, even when I am a prisoner]. Pray that I may talk about Him [Jesus] fearlessly, as I should.

Spiritual Protection for warding off evil

Also remember this warning from Jesus: “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” (The Gospel according to Matthew 5:44). We can’t become infected by evil!

In this regard, Paiva Netto writes about how to prevent the action of evil spirits (or of the “invisible wolves,” referring to the Gospel of Christ according to Luke 10:3). He begins his explanation by addressing a false feeling of incapability that may arise in the face of such bad spiritual influences:

Yes, you do have the strength! Who told you that you don’t? Distance yourself from any suggestion of weakness that come precisely from the “spiritual evil-doing wolf” that we are strongly denouncing here. But also pray for it, so the fervent prayer touches the recesses of its soul, making it into a good individual through the transformation of its character. Ask for the support of your Guardian Angel, or Guiding Spirit, or Tutelary Deity, whatever you call these (still) Invisible Benefactors.

As Alziro Zarur (1914-1979) used to affirm, “Goodness will never be defeated by evil.'”.

This watchful attitude needs to be permanent, otherwise evil spiritual influences may return and return even stronger.

So be aware of what you’re drawing into your life. Always practice the Triple Harmony with Jesus: Good Thoughts, Good Words, and Good Deeds, as the Divine Religion teaches us!
